Destination Austin!

We arrived in Austin… and we are so happy to be here. We lucked out and quickly found an apartment located in the South Congress/South First neighborhood. It is a perfect location for us and we are quite excited. The downside, we can’t move in until January 7. We’ve been having fun tooling around the hill country the past few weeks however, after Christmas, we were both feeling travel fatigued and ready to sleep in a real bed for more than one night. After doing a bit of research, air miles for the win again, I cashed out 90,000 British Airways miles for a Hilton Hotel Suite/Apartment for a week. The place is really nice, spacious and cozy with a decent free breakfast and happy hour, as well as a kitchen to cook our own meals. It has been so nice to settle in a bit, relax, watch movies on a huge tv, work on projects, have a refrigerator, wash dishes in a sink, take showers, sleep in a bed, and not worry about the constant logistics of traveling and camping. We have enjoyed our trip tremendously, but I think we are ready to have a home again.
